An Interesting Poll

I know I have a lot of people who also read Scott Freeman's blog, so some of you might have already seen this, but I thought I would repost it here because it's an interesting little poll. It's a hermeneutics (Biblical interpretation) quiz that asks you to think about how you interpret the Bible. And I'm curious about how people come out on it.

You can take it here. I'll post my score in the comments later today.

I scored a 70. I didn't much care for my options on several questions but it is an interesting quiz. Thanks for sharing.

78 myself. I answered with a lot of 4's, a few 3's and one or two 5's.

My complaint about the scale is that it's essentially bipolar. Categories 1 & 5 represent the 'actual' differences, and category 3 is thrown in for the wishy-washy. Categories 4 & 2 might as well not exist. Surely there are more subtle (and real) distinctions to biblical interpretation than just two-and-a-half categories (giving half-credence to option 3)??

No anonymous, your are either right or wrong, there is no subtle-ty-ness allowed. /sarcasm

Flaming liberal here. 73. Really didn't like some of the options. Very modern wording and subjects.

49, says I'm spiritually conservative.
Didn't like my options on some of the answers. In some cases, none of the 4 applied. Didn't feel right as I marked the more conservative choice, but I also wasn't comfortable with the more liberal choices. Not a good representation of real beliefs in my opinion.

I got 75 and my wife got 79. I expected her to be higher than me because she has a more progressive view on most things than I do.

If I took this quiz 30 years ago, I would have scored under 50, and thought that anyone with more liberal (progressive) views than mewas about to backslide. Goodness, how times have changed, and experience has mellowed the fundamental views I once had.

The binary world of right vs. left might work on Fox News, but it doesn't have anything to do with reality. Or theology. I felt this quiz was basically worthless.

Scored a 78, and I agree with some of the comments about the validity of the test in real life. I do have training in Psychological testing, and part of the point of a test like this is not to have every option that you might want to have. You must make a choice that is the closest representation to what you think. I think the traps that each subgroup can fall in to are interesting. The point is not to divide people in to groups like fox news, the point is for you to understand more about yourself and what your common issues might be.
