Were these people around during Bosnia? Would they be opposed to military action in Darfur?
Its a great thing to realize that war is wrong, and that there are hardly any times when it should be waged, but I feel like many of these protestors don't realize that Barack or Hillary aren't anti war, and they won't get us out of Iraq. All powerful government always yields war. The whole notion of the state as we know it started for the purposes of warmaking. Its why we shouldn't be protesting certain wars nearly as much as we should be protesting the state making those decisions for the collective.
I am a pragmatic idealist trying to figure out what it means to be a disciple of Jesus and what it means to live in the Kingdom of God.
I'm married to Sheryl and the daddy of Kinsey and Connor.

I wonder what would have happened if some pick-pocketers made some rounds during the protest. Would they stand there and do nothing then?
Wow, love that!
Ben, they might follow Jesus' exhortation that if someone takes your coat to give them your shirt as well...
